2. CONTENT
a. Introduction of the movie
This film is a true story, tells of a child from Papua tribal named Denias (Albert Fakdawer) who are highly motivated to school for a trivial reason. her mother says that the mountain was afraid the child's school. Actually he also get motivated to go to school from his teacher at the school emergency father (Matthias),and from a soldier who was called Maleo (Ari Sihasale). He was on duty near the Denias village. Denias, the son of a farmer in rural central Papuan tribes. School spirit and desire is always turbulent in the mind and thoughts. Sentences of those who love and respect he kept ringing and burning zeal.
He took a part in a koteka’s ceremony. After he had gotten ceremony, he gathered with his big family. They were talking together and his mother advised him to studied hard, to be clever boy because of mountain is afraid. Suddenly, his friends called him to accompanied them went to the forest to hunted cuscus. In the morning he went to his school, was located on the top of hill it was to far from his house, so he was late. The teacher separated them and the teacher called Denias and they were talking. The teacher advised him that “ Denias, you are smart boy among your friend. You are my best student. One day in your life, you can continue your study in the city” and denias said “ but noel, said i can’t continue my study in the city, because of people that can continue study in the city, just rich man “ and then the teacher said that it not good statement, somebody who want study is clever student and diligent student, isn’t rich man. He always fought with his friend noel ( son’s chief of ethnic ) when he come back to his home. His face was bruised, so that his father to knew that and then his father ( Mr. Samuel ) was angry to him and he forbade denias to studied again.
Suddenly his mother was sick and denias took care her. When denias was sleeping, his mother woke up denias and asked denias to put off his t-shirt which was wet. And denias put on his t-shirt above fire, denias didn’t sleep again. his friend, called him, to hunted cuscus in the forest. While he and his friend looked for cuscus, suddenly his house was burned. Next he came to his house, he was surprised, that his mother died. He was so sad and he felt so guilty.
The custom in cendrawasih island, if there member of family died, his father’s finger had to cut and he had to mud bath. Whole the day denias was the depressed. He climbed on the tree his father called him and angried him.


b. Core of the film
One day The teacher come back to Jakarta because his wife was sick, and then Maleo substituted the teacher ( mathias muchus ). When denias studied, he fought again with noel, because noel despised denias. Suddenly his father, ( Mr. samuel ) come to his school and he brought denias to their house. He forbade denias, went to school again, if in school he just fought.
One day the 5,8 scale earthquake broke denias’ emergency school and they rebuilt a new building next to the lake. Denias was thought map by maleo. The day after Maleo left his student and left letter for denias in his house. He suggested denias to don’t give up for studying.
Denias decided, to left his village for continued his study to city. He looked for maleo in the city and he didn’t find him. One day he looked the best school in the city he wanted so much to study in that school and Mrs. Sam looked denias and approached Denias, and Mrs. Sam asked denias for went to her house. They were talking so much, about denias’s life and Mrs. Sam was interested with his story and Mrs. Sam wanted denias could continue his study again.
Mrs. Sam submit to headmaster, in order denias could continue study in their school. Because denias was smart, clever and he had much experience in his life. But headmaster and the other teacher didn’t agree and then many pro – contra about problem . finally he could continue his study. But there was qualification, if he wanted to study in the that school. He ought to get examination or test. If he could fast the test, he could continue study.
When he gotten test, he gotten motivation from angel ( the beautiful girl ), angel always gave support to denias. While he waited the result of his test. He always went to that school and played with angel, noel studied in that school but noel was pirced then denias. Noel always distrubed denias. And one day noel attacked denias caused denias was sick.
Because of he was uncomfort in his boarding school he decided to come back his village because denias tought he was impossible to be receipt in that school.

c. Ending of the Movie

Then Denias any reckless running away from home took 4 day trip to go to town looking for a school. Finally he reached the complex of PT Freeport Indonesia. After struggling desperately to be accepted in the school. At the destination, Denias struggle is not finished. As a child of unusual interest, Denias not be allowed to attend school in the school's facilities. His introduction to Enos make Denias get into the schools and trying to gather knowledge in its own way.
After that separated denias and maleo hadn’t ever met. Now denias is in darwin and he studies in Darwin, Australia. He gets scholarship from PT. Freeport Indonesia.
Until the film was made maleo’s life is unknown. Sam koibur, aged 31 th years she still serves in papua island as a teacher. And noel works in a company or office in Jakarta, to intens for film activation as producer.And angel is lecturing in one of university a malang.


3. OPINION ABOUT THE MOVIE
a. Theme 1
• Education
I think this film is one of the best Indonesian film. Actually, this movie contains social criticism to the education in Indonesia. There are still many Indonesian children are difficult or even not able to get education.
Denias is just one sample, In this film we also can see the natural beauty of West Papua. You will be amazed at the expanse of green hills and mountains. After watching this movie my own so want to aspire to go Papua someday.

b. Theme 2
• The culture
It inform us and make us know about the variety of cultures in our country, Indonesia. And we can realize that our culture, especially in Sunda, West Java is not extreme as in Irian Jaya. Such as, Koteka Ceremony, the sorrow ceremony, and the situation in Denias’ school and house.
